Many of Lucy Garnett’s primary school pupils participated in the Outdoor Adventurous Residentials she organised to the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, where they would learn to hike, canoe, rock climb, explore and play on the beach. At low tide the group could go through the arch at Three Cliffs Bay, from the protected inland side to the wild sea. The painted door represents the threshold within themselves that the children crossed whilst overcoming fears and rising to challenges away from home.
